Common App Essay Prompts 2017-2018

Hello friends, I'm back with another important topic. I know I'm posting after a very long time but I was very busy with a hell lot of exams and my health issues. I don't know what's happening with me but I've been sick more times in the past two years than in my whole life combined. It has made my grades take a nosedive which makes me more anxious about my college application.

Moving on to the topic, today I'll be talking about the Common App Essay Prompts for 2017-2018. So, Common App has introduced some changes in the essay prompts for this year. Let me first share the essay prompts with you and then I'll talk about how you can use these to draft a stand out application.

I'm sharing these prompts from the official Common App website. All the changes are in italics.

Application Submitted...What Next?

Hey guys, today's post is a bit interesting. Till now, we've talked about the standardized tests, college lists, college applications and what not. But today, I'll be discussing about the post submission time. So, let's assume that you've successfully submitted your best possible college application, now what?
Before we dive into the topic, I want to share a perfect college application submission strategy. So, as I've discussed earlier in my "College List" post, you should submit application to at least 10-12 colleges. Of which, 25% should be "very difficult but possible to get into" colleges, 50% should be "moderately difficult to get into" colleges, and 25% should be "easy to get into" colleges.
Now, submit early decision application to your dream college. And if you're confused between two or three dream colleges, then you might go with the one with better acceptance rate. Then, if any of the colleges on your list…

Ace the Personal Interview

Hello friends, I talked about the dos and don'ts for a perfect college application in the previous post. Now, I'll be talking about a perfect interview. So first of all, you need to know that you might be interviewed by a college but it's not sure. It depends on various factors like availability of interviewers, etc.

Who will interview you? Well generally, an admissions officer or an alumni of the college may interview you. The main motive of the interview is to know the applicant better. It's also a chance for you to know the college better. You may not be able to visit the college campus, so it's your chance.
What's the interview all about? As I said earlier, interview is all about getting to know the applicant with more clarity. But you should note that you might not get that chance, so your application is the only thing you've got, to convey the message. Don't look at the interview as a hurdle. It's just a normal conversation you'll be havi…

Okay, so today I'm back with a very important topic. So, today I'll be discussing some valuable points which will help you in submitting your "PERFECT" college application. By the way, feel free to add more in the comments. Don't keep it to yourself.

False Claims = Bye Bye Dream College Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever make false claims in your college application. Were those enough "evers" to make my point? Seriously dude, false claims is a BIG NO NO in a college application. You better try doing 10K push ups without resting rather than trying to get into your dream university with false claims on your colleg…

Hello friends, as I promised, here's the first QNA post on FUSEPP. But before I get started, I'd like to remind you that the Early Decision/Early Action application deadline for most of the prestigious universities is approaching at warp speed (i.e., November 1, 2016). So , I hope all your applications are either sent or are in final stage. Similarly, Regular Decision deadline for most of the prestigious institutions is January 1, 2017. So, I'll be writing about some dos and don'ts to keep in mind before pressing that submit button on your screen. So, watch out for that post.

So, lets get started.

Which is the best/a good university for [xyz] major? Well, this is probably the most frequently asked question. Even before a student starts planning for his studies abroad, he/she asks this question. It is so as it helps you to set a goal, a dream university to aim for.
Actually, there are 200+ majors in various US universities, so answering this question for every major wi…
